Tried at the strait and narrow, Lincoln. Deep almost black colour with a tan head. Light roasted malt aroma with a hint of chocolate. Taste roasted bitter. Medium creamy body.

Tap at the Birmingham Beer Bash, 2015. Poured a clear dark brown with a bubbly off white head. The aroma is dry earthy oaty malt. The flavour is light smokey liqourice bitter with a smooth chewy oatmeal sweet caramel malt palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation. Rather liked this one and the best beer I’ve had from Atom so far.

Cask at the Euston tap. Aroma is nice earthy woodland berry, roast, touch of fruity fermentation esters and a bit of charred wood. Opaque dark brown/ black coloured pour with a lasting sticky light tan head. Flavour is woody, berry, chalky mineral and solid earthy roast barley. Palate is a little thin, moderate carbonation. Good condition. Lingering bitter roast a hint of a Belgian note.

On cask at Coach and Horses, Dronfield - Black body with thin tan head. Nice woody aroma, but a bit thin in the body, with some dustiness, toast and liquorice in the taste. Has a roasted malty chocolate finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.
