Bottle at home picked up from Siren online. A jet black opaque coloured pour with a lasting frothy mid tan head. Aroma is big rich earthy coffee, some green pepper, waxy crayon, oily dark chocolate, Woody roast. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, rich oily dark chocolate, waxy, green coffee, salty liquorice, Palate is thicc and luxurious, low carbonation, oily, Nice.

Panda thanks to Cloin. Just about clear dark brown beer, teeny tiny tan head. Smooth and semi dry palate, fairly light, reasonable fine carbonation. Sweet dark malts, a touch of sweet dark chocolate. Something ripe fruity, a little spicy ripe cherry. All very pleasant and unfortunately for me, all very screwed up by an emulsion paint cum glue thing going on that is too strong to ignore or forgive. The light semi dry finish brings a little spice. A good beer hamstrung by flaws

Bottle picked up directly from Siren brewery Finchampstead and consumed at home Saturday 15th February 2025 watching the film Life on Netflix. Loz has been making Mince Pies and also savoury pies today and I made Chicken Fajitas and all the side dishes to accompany, they were decent. Pours shark eye black light beige head I think but subsided quite quickly. Thick and indulgent in the mouth. Nose is coffee, chocolate, bourbon and a touch of wafty booziness. Sweetness in the mouth but then a big bourbon and bitter roasty chocolatey vanilla tang. It's good but I would like it a bit more subtle, the bourbon is a bit domineering.

Lighter shade of black topped with a tan cap that dissipates to a swirl.
Nose is cacao nibs, coffee grinds, charr, light black peppery spice, roasted tone.
Taste comprises dark malts, bourbon spike, charr, chocolate, spice, tangy dark fruit rinds, less coffee than on the nose, herbal tones.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close with a balanced rising boost.
Tidy BA impy if perhaps not from the top drawer.

Black beer, thin tan head. Smells of chocolate, malt, dried fruit and spirits. Flavour has a more distinct bourbon hit up front, sweet and boozy but without being sickly. Dark chocolate, toasty malt, toffee, a little woody, vanilla, a hint of the alcohol. The strength is clear in the flavour and finish, which is warming and sweet and it has a big smooth body. Beautiful stuff.

Tap at Siren with Dad, 15th June 24. Pours thick and black. Aroma is chocolate, barrel, vanilla, complex. Taste is sweet, chocolate, cocoa, barrel, liquor, vanilla, good complexity. Nice one
