Clear, slightly lively amber beer, thin white head.Slightly sour fruit in both the aroma and the taste. A touch watery. Some caramel, mellow hop. It’s crisp and drinkable but bang average, all told.

Copper colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have some syrupy malt sweetness and a little resinous hop.

345ml bottle from my local Morrison’s Store: poured into a Chimay chalice at home on 28th July 2016. Clear and clean amber pour, wispy off-white head. Malty lead in both the nose and taste, light molasses giving a semi-sweetness to the flavour. Some orange and semi-sweet citrus notes play alongside the maltiness, but this is not a bitter, or hoppy IPA.

345ml bottle from Morrisons, imported by Shepherd Neame. Golden amber pour with a tight cream head; aroma of orange and lemon peel; thick and syrupy in the mouth with an oily citrus taste and a sweet caramel body; then a dry finish with some pine resin. Very unbalanced and not what’s expected of an IPA nowadays.

Bottle. Clear amber with a white head. Aroma has some grapefruit, oranges and pine, also some raisins and butterscotch. Carbonation is on the high side. Bittersweet, with fairly crude bitterness kicking in right away. Somewhat buttery toffee, weeds, some citrus, pine. Seems like it was brewed to be barely adequate.

345ml bottle into schooner glass. Excellent nose, floral hops backed by smoky malt. Bronze coloured beer with thin white head. A few bubbles. Oily texture, immediate hop sharpness. Long bitter lemon finish, a little malt present. Nice, balanced, drinkable.
