33cl bottle. Pours opaque black but with chestnut tinge. There is a thin crema head some of which hangs around. The nose has millionaire shortbread but also raisins, so it’s fruit and nut bar, really. The taste has dark chocolate and liquorice. The palate is medium bodied with a drying finish. Overall, amazing nose but lacks it in the other department.

Opaque black beer, small tan head. Crisp palate. Mildly dark malt with molasses. Pretty minerally. Trace of lactose. Semi dry finish. That’s all! It’s okay but a bit too much molasses.

Pours dark brown with a small head.Nose shows nutty malt, chocolate and soft coffee. Faint but nice.Flavours include the same nutty and coffee characters, followed by a mild bitterness.Could use a thicker body, seems watery at the moment.

From a 330ml bottle on 9/10/2011. Pours an extremely dark ruby colour with a small head. Has a nice, quite a strong malty, bready aroma with some chocolate and a bit of honey. The flavours are similar, though sweet chocolate and caramel really come to the fore. Finishes with pleasant tempering bitterness. A good dark beer.

[6/11] Bottle, 13C. Dark reddish brown with a light beige head. Aroma is chocolatey with light roast, stewed fruit, nectarines, lychees and grass. Light bodied - it’s pretty thin but the minerally water is a worthy element. Mild chocolate, honey and dark fruits followed by tropical and citrus bitterness. Turns out to be hoppier than it first seems. Not sure this is a porter but it’s good and unmistakably Kiwi. [3.5]Probably not "unmistakably Kiiwi" anymore. But I still like it despite its weak body.
