A classic German style pilsner with a twist. Spicy NZ hops & citrus American hops generate an enticing aroma and a crisp peppery bitterness that balances a lean malt profile.

Draught at the brewery. Light golden colour. Heavy continental hop aroma. The flavour is more of that, with moderate bitterness. The malts are clean, providing good balance.

355ml can into glass. Light fruity hop nose. Pale yellow beer with fluffy white head. Only a few bubbles. Chalky mouthfeel, subtle citric bitterness. Finish is long. Nice beer. Good sessioner.

Can. Pale gold with white head. Aroma is earthy and husky with herbs and a bit of lemon. Sweetish with moderate bitterness, quite lemony. OK, but malt flavours a bit muddled - doesn’t have that clean plain pils malt that can would be nicely seasoned by the hops here.

Tap at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear straw colour with lots of bubbles and a frothy white head. The aroma is light malt, yeast. The flavour is moderate bitter with a yeast, hop bitter, light zesty citrus palate and a somewhat unpleasant yeasty aftertaste. Light bodied with lively carbonation.

From a 355ml can on 6/7/2013. Pours a clearish straw colour with a big white head. Has a strong, quite pleasant citrus aroma. The flavour features pale malt, more cirus fruit, lemon zest and a subtle hint of grapefruit, with a good, firm bitterness to finish thing off. The body and carbonation are both medium. These guys are doing a Surly and serving in cans and making some rather good stuff.
