From tap at Taplokaal Gist during the Siren tap takeover. At 8.5% abv aged in both red wine and bourbon barrels. Aroma is sweet dark malt with oak, red wine, grapes, caramel, soft bourbon, raisins, liqueur. Sweet flavour with a little bitterness and lots of barrel. Body is medium to full. Sweet and a bit warming, the red wine in particular makes an impression. Good!

Bottle from Etre Gourmet webshop, Belgium. Had this Friday 1st May 2020 watching a film on Netflix (forgot name) we had Chicken Rogan Josh from The Curry Guy book, also Homemade Nan Bread and Onion and Potato Bhajis. Pours dark amber or even brown with a reddy glint, a light swiftly departing beige head sits atop. Vanilla, wet woodiness and wine on the nose. In the mouth wine, a tanginess, vanilla, some dark raw brown molasses, sweetness but with a tang, a nice slight booziness. Very nice.

Appearance is murky brown with a slight ruby tinge, a half-finger beige foamy head. Aroma is lots of cherry, oaky woody tannins, red wine, strawberry, marzipan, caramel hints, fruitcake, vanilla. Taste- cherries, fruitcake, sultanas, red wine, Christmas cake, strawberry jam, sweet dark fruits, marzipan, nutty malt. Lots going on, very nice.

Bottled 330ml (Beer Merchants)
Deep ruby colour, not much head. Berryish, oaky with some Bourbon in the nose. Medium-bodied. Quite obvious elements here: red berries, oak, toffee, Bourbon. Quite sweet and a bit too berryish but has some potential.

Almost clear reddish amber beer, short lived bubbly pale tan head. Smooth palate with a nice light fine carbonation. Smooth and sweetish malts, a light creamy sweetness. Lovely red wine vibe here, juicy with a smooth ripe orange undertone. Light vanilla oak. Keeping the sweetness in check is a whisper of something sour red/brown lurking underneath. Very mild spice. Smooth fruity creamy finish. Delicious! Big effort not to tank this!
