A rich, imperial porter brewed with barley and wheat malt smoked over Beechwood.

Stronger than our flagship Railway Porter, London Smoke packs velvet smooth notes of bonfires, tobacco and dark chocolate. There’s a bitterness, too, and subtle, musty flavours of wood smoke, oak and vanilla.

Aromas of coffee, molasses and sherry on the nose, and an umami finish which lingers. Dark, decadent, and pretty damn delicious.

Keg draught at the brewery tap. Impenetrably dark brown with a massive khaki/beige head. Sweet woodsmoke aroma with stone fruit creeping through. Taste is much more smoky with oak notes, tobacco, burnt caramel. Drier finish with woodsmoke on the tongue in the aftertaste. Lures you in with an initial sweetness and then piles on the smoky intensity. Genius.

Bouteille 33cl, BB 11.04.2018, bottled on 11.04.2016 achetée à WholeFoods, London.

On keg at Cloisters. Appearance - deep brown with a nice lacy head. Nose - toffee and smoke. Nuts in the vicinity. Taste - hazelnuts and toffee Praline. The smoke follows through on the finish. Palate - close to medium bodied with a dry smoky middle section and end. Overall - good. Great brewer.
