On tap at Borefts BF 2017. Black beer lasting tan head. Spicy liquorice aniseed aroma. It's not in my flavour wheelhouse at all.

Draft @ Borefts 2017. Black color. Brown head. Aroma's: DROP, licorice, aniseed, salty/umami. Retronasal it's aniseed, herbal. Flavor is pure herbal. Rather thin on the palate. Long finish, full of herbs. Meh.

Sampled @ Borefts Beer Festival 2017, day 1. Opaque pitch black color, medium sized brown head. Smell and taste malts, huge liquorice and huge anise. If you like anise and liquorice, you're golden with this. Otherwise, you'll struggle to finish it.

Thank you for sharing! Sampled draft @ Borefts 2017. Day 1. Black with no head. Massive, massive star anise in the nose & chocolate syrup. Taste is chocolate syrup, coffee & star anise really to the max, black liquorice. Black liquorice & chocolate syrup. I should hate but it partially appears to me but you need to be massively into star anise to fully love this.

Sampled from tap at Borefts 2017. Pitch black with a medium large, slightly creamy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, quite spicy and moderately roasty aroma of dark chocolate, coffee and lots of star anise. Quite sweet, malty, moderately roasty and rather spicy taste of dark chocolate, coffee, hazelnut and lots of star anise, followed by a medium long, rather roasty-bitter, slightly earthy-dry and fairly spicy finish. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice, just a bit too spicy.
