As the leaves keep falling and the weather gets colder, and we've created the perfect beer to counter the chill.

Originally brewed for the Borefts Beer Festival, All The Leaves Are Brown is a seasonal Brown Ale brewed to imperial strength and laced with maple syrup. Pour it into a glass and you'll be treated to a wonderful aroma of caramel and treacle, and on first sip you'll get both mixed with a rich, malty sweetness, maple syrup and full, sticky mouthfeel.

On keg at Brewdog, Manchester. Pours opaque dark brown with a fine tan head. Aroma: maple syrup, fudge, caramel, vanilla, bourbon barrel. Taste: moderate to heavy sweet, rich, maple syrup, caramel, vanilla, nuts, oak, a little chocolate. Medium to heavy bodied, fine carb, wonderfully smooth mouthfeel & finish. Great beer

Clear dark brown colour, beige head. Aroma of caramel, treacle, loads of maple syrup, brown sugar. Light bitter, sweet malty flavour, maple and caramel. Finish treacle, maple and caramel. Nice stuff, especially for a brown ale!

Keg at the Eebria tap room. Opaque dark brown beer, tidy tan head. Nose of maple. Smooth palate, slightly soft, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth but rich dark malts, a little dark chocolate and modest coffee. Good maple syrup is very well integrated and dominates the beer. Smooth finish leaves more maple and dark chocolate. Goes down ridiculously easy, really nicely done.

Bottle from Westhill Service Station. It pours opaque darkest brown with a medium, foamy beige head. The aroma is rich, sweet, heady maple syrup vibes, treacle, dried fruits, fruit cake, toffee and a bit of spice. The taste is bitter - sweet, maple syrup, treacle, dried fruits, slick, chewy malt, bit of spice, cola, burnt toffee, earth, touch of alcohol, coffee cake, wood, brown bread with a slick and chewy finish. Full body and fine carbonation. Has some pleasant warmth to it. Originally 3.8. Re-rates to 4. Delicious.

Bottle from Cork & Cask. Hazy dark brown body with a medium tan head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of maple syrup and wood. Flavour of maple syrup, treacle and a hint of black pepper and vanilla. Medium body with a slick, syrupy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. The heavy sweetness takes some getting used to, and although the flavour is one dimensional it works pretty well.
