Poured into a pint glass, the appearance was a solid black color with a creamy tan head that hung around for a little bit before dissipating nicely. Sly sticky lace and then ends up sliding into the beer nicely.
The aroma had a ton of huge rich milk chocolate up front. Dark fruits make a good effort to come in nicely. Sly earthiness to try and provide some balance.
The flavor starts sweet with the chocolate and dark fruits. Earthiness once again helps to balance. Aftertaste is mainly the chocolate and dark fruity sweetness. Quick sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fair sessionable to sipping quality about it. Low carbonation helps to produce a sly acceptable stickiness to it.
Overall, definitely one of their best beers. I would definitely have again.

A deep dark porter with a thin lacing dark brown head. In aroma, a faint sweet chocolate with light fruity esters. In mouth, a nice roasted coffee with bitter chocolate, lightly peaty notes, some burned wood, but overall, not bad. On tap at brewpub , March 18 2012.

On tap at the source. Pours a solid black color with a creamy tan head that sticks around for a but before impaling itself to my glass. Smells of chocolate up front with bits of caramel and dark fruit. Earthy hops break through the sweetness to provide some balance. Wow this is a great tasting chocolate bomb. Some dark fruits come through as well as some earthy hops. Medium to thick body with a light level of carbonation and a sweet creamy mouthfeel. I finished the night with this beer, it was nice little desert and my favorite beer of the night.
