On tap at Lake Chalet in Oakland. Labeled as Regatta Red. It pours a clear red amber color with a foamy khaki head. The aroma is decent with some toasted malt, red berries and a hint of molasses. The flavor also has some toasted malt, a little caramel and low to medium piney bitterness. Low carbonation and a bit flabby in the mouth feel. One of their more tolerable beers.

Bomber to pint glass. Aromas of overt rich malt but also a hint of cardboard in the background. No detectable hop present - how unusual for an American Red! Pours clear amber-mahogany with an off-white head that retains as just a collar and a dusting across the top. Taste is bread and biscuit malts. Moderate high carbonation with a thin mouthfeel for the malt. Back half of palate is a rough bitterness that seems a little medicinal and finishes astringent. Some good aspects of this beer tail off in the taste, especially as it warmed.

Draft. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of butterscotch. The flavor is sweet with notes of butterscotch and nuts, leading to a dry buttery finish. In my opinion it was off.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours clear and deep amber, golden, and with a small tan head. Toffee butterish and slight roasted caramel/breadish malt aroma. Sweet malty flavoured, light roasted note and a hint of liqourice. Butter notes disappear in the flavours. Ends mild bitter and with a reappearing butterish note from back of the nose.
