Review #1200, so went for a big hitter. Dark black pour with and orange tint and a small tan head. Aromas are malt, cocoa, milk/cream, caramell/toffee, whisk(e)y, some licquorice and wood notes. You can scent the booze a bit. Taste is cocoa, coffee, milk/cream, whisk(e)y, licquorice, wood (oak?), orange/marmalade. Pleasantly boozy finish

Bottle. Dark brown sporting a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, maple syrup and wood. Taste of roasted malts, molasses, maple syrup, Bourbon, tobacco, wood and mocha. Moderate bitterness. Low carbonation. Full-bodied. Noticeable alcoholic warmth. Yea this is rich but it feels like a massive chocolate cake with multiple flavourings that is a big delight yet makes you feel mightily stuffed after the first bite.

330ml bottle - Pours black with a small lasting tan head. The aroma is sweet dark roasted malts, bourbon, chocolate with maple syrup and woody notes. A sweet roasted taste, roasted malts, bitter chocolate and caramel flavours with notes of maple syrup, bourbon and wood. An oily mouthfeel and some warming in the finish.

Bottle from Dogtap. Pours oily black with a thin tan cap. Aroma is dominated by the maple syrup barrel, also dark chocolate, liquorice, umami. The taste follows, moderate+ sweet & bitter. Medium+ body with light carbonation. Disappointing for their anniversary stout, which should be stellar.

Bottle thanks to Stuu666. Appearance - dark brown with a light orange chink. Thin tan to fawn head. Nose - coffee, maple syrup and lightly meaty. Taste - maple syrup for coffee. Pancakes and praline. Palate - medium bodied, rich and sweet middle and finish. Overall - good. The maple syrup dominates more than preferred, mind.
