Cab thanks to Roddy. Appearance - deep amber with an edge of red. Thin white head. Nose - raspberry, wholemeal bread. Dried orange. Taste - red cherry, caramel, toffee and light roast. Palate - medium bodied, chewy and rich middle. The finish has some bitterness but still kinda sweet and rich. Overall - not an IPA of any kind. This is a strong ale, and it's good at that.

Can from Lidl. Pours clear dark amber with a thick off-white head. Aromas of caramel and marmalade. Taste is sticky, oily, marmalade again. Sweet finish.

From Lidl beer fest 2022. It pours clear deep amber - brown with a a medium fluffy white head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, sappy, oil, tangy orangey citrus, kumquat, blood orange, toffee and a touch of pine. The taste is initially dry, bitter, woody, resinous, sappy, pithy, zesty, orange rind, grapefruit, toffee, green, grassy, toasted nut, spice and light alcohol. Medium body and moderate carbonation. An old school IPA with a hearty malt base. Not bad.
