A tasty, modern hop-forward Pale Ale that pours a hazy golden straw colour with a persistent head of smooth white foam.

Three flavour-intense European hop varieties (Hallertau Blanc, Barbe Rouge and Mandarina Bavaria) present aromas of berries, pink grapefruit, tinned fruit salad, strawberry ice cream and orange pith. It’s smooth and easy drinking with a tangy gooseberry-white wine edge and hint of tangerine. Bitterness is moderate, the finish is crisp and dry. It’s a US style Pale with a fruity European twist - the same, but different.

(Can, 0.44l, from Seven Cellars, 20250912) The beer poured deep golden and cloudy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had clear signs of infection. Flavours likewise. Awful.

Can. Almost clear orange gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Light malts, thin really, a touch of grain, nothing annoying, modest sweetness. Crisp pine intro to the hops and they are nicely layered. Mandarina up front with light but juicy overripe mandarin, a little peel bitterness underneath. Hallertau Blanc mild grape shows itself as theB starts to fade. The Barba Rouge showing a little ripe berries on the very end and through the light and semi dry finish into the aftertaste. Tidy, fairly clean and drinkalble.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Cork & Cask. Pours mostly clear Honey-gold with a large, frothy, mostly white head. Novel hop character, some citrus peel, pine needles, straw, white grape, lemongrass a. Wants; moderate sweetness. Light bodied with lively carbonation. Pretty well balanced finish, subtle earthy notes, more citrus peel. Tasty one.

Can from Westhill Service Station. It pours hazy pale orange with a medium white head. The aroma is earthy, leafy, spice, rustic vibes, hearty bread, really rather fruity, summer berries, orange peel, tangerine, blood orange, marmalade and apricot. The taste is dry, nice hit of bitterness, bitter grass, leafy, earthy, stone fruits, persimmon, summer berry, touch of white grape, gooseberry, spice and farmhouse style bread with a drying, leafy finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Really interesting and Greta depth of flavour for the style. Impressive.
