Our Table Saison (4.0%) is a light version of the style, both in terms of alcohol content and colour; pale straw topped with a brilliant white head. As with all our beers, the flavour is anything but restrained and here we have a big fruity hit accompanied by more delicate floral notes and the trademark peppery spice.
On the nose the fruit is orange, with the first sip revealing blackcurrant too. There are strong citrus notes throughout with lime and tangy marmalade to the fore over an earthy, bready base. The yeast profile is at the cleaner end of the Saison scale, but the classic fruit-spice character is in full effect. There’s a lively mouthfeel, medium body and a crisp, dry finish.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from Cork & Cask. Pours lightly hazed yellowy-gold with a huge, frothing white head. Lightly sweet, super dry, pleasant restrained grassy bitterness, crispy grain husks, wheat flakes, lemon peel. Light bodied, airy, with lively carbonation. Clean, dry finish, some biscuits, floral hops, further wheat flakes, lemony accents. Just massively drinkable.

Bottle from Westhill Service Station. It pours hazy straw yellow with a thick, billowing white head. The aroma is fresh, fragrant, doughy white bread, cereal, biscuit, grain, daisies, spicy, ginger nuts, twist of citrus, straw and some herbal accents. The taste is crisp, dry, some lingering bitterness, grass, straw, cereal, floral, doughy white bread, pithy citrus, waxy peel, biscuit, spicy and herbal with a dry, bitter finish. Lighter end of medium body and high, foamy carbonation. Really rather lovely. Flavourful and moreish with a good level of bitterness. Could definitely be Belgian.
