Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW) Reading. Burnished amber-red colour with a white head and a light fizz. Blueberry, blackcurrant, grass and earth, with a slightly cloying creamy mouthfeel and a dry, bitter finish that doesn't really go. Sloes and a touch of cinnamon in the aftertaste. This would be better if the bitterness was toned down a touch. It's still ok though.

[Cask at the Bear (JDW), Maidenhead.] A slightly cloudy pinkish amber pour with a tight pink head; fruity aroma; blueberry taste with a grainy body; and a tart bitterness with some spice to finish. An interesting start to this spring's festival.

On cask at the Standing Order. Appearance - red blush colour. Pink white head. Nose - berries, maybe blueberry or blackberry. Taste - generous blueberry and blackberry. Bitter resin closes it out. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture. The finish is fairly balanced with a decent linger. Overall - very nice.
