Rich combinations of flavoursome dark malts make this beer a deeply delectable experience. A rich, warming, full-bodied stout. A beer to bring you out of your shell and to induce an overwhelming sense of happiness. Great with dark meat, pies, casseroles and stilton cheese.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at Tewkesbury Winter Beer Festival, 1/2/2019. Dark brown in colour, with a thin, off-white, head. Plenty of chocolate, leafy hops, some liquorice and toasty malts before a dryish finish. Ok.

Bottle shared at DS. It pours dark brown - black with small light tan head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, treacle, molasses, cocoa, umami, fruit cake and rocky road. The taste is dry, bitter, toasty, earthy roast, umami, liquorice, cocoa, bit chewy, twiggy, leather and earth with some spice on the finish. Lightish - medium body and fine carbonation. A bit thin, but not so bad.

Egham Beer Fest, 30/043/18. Choc malt aroma. Dark and glossy. Thin if creamy beige head. Creamy - with a light bitter choc. Some low key berries. Light bodied but still creamy. Flat carbonation. Abrupt. Low key but at the same time a really enjoyable stout.
