Barley Wine fermented with saison yeast and aged in Marsala barrels for one year. Brother to La leggenda El Fernando, Marsala barrel aging marks the real difference with La Leggenda: after pouring it and letting it rest for a while, plums and raisins notes emerge clearly.

Draught at BXL Beer Fest, Brussels. Shared by Beerhunter111, thanks!
Dark red-brown body, with a small, creamy, beige head.
Aroma of caramel, cocoa, spirits barrel, dried fruits, sherry.
Tastes quite similar, while sweeter and more intense, boozy.
Medium, creamy mouthfeel, with a low carbonation.
Finishes warm, a bit astringent, sweet, fruity, with caramel, sherry, dried fruits.

Tasty. Heavy and boozy, while a really comfortable, creamy sipper, with a broad sweet malt body and dense sweet fruits. Great, big Barley Wine.

Sampled at BXL festival. Bit hazy reddish brown with beige head. Massive marzipan, thick sugary malts, strong old fashioned apple syrup and beer sugar syrup too. Tart grapes and light red currants, pine, marzipan and soft grassy hops. Very very sweet, under medium sour and bitter. Thick full syrupy body. Not bad.
