Rose is named for Portland, Oregon, the Rose City. Originally called Golden Rose, this Beer started life as a straight forward Belgian Tripel and evolved into a Beer made with beets, hibiscus flowers and pink peppercorns. She has always been inspired by the Belgian style known as Tripel, which has a low level hops and is deceivingly light in body for its alcohol strength. This is achieved through the use of imported Belgian candi sugar.

From tap at Borefts 2017. Aroma is malty with caramel, herbal notes, berries, mild sugary notes, and a floral touch. Flavour is rather sweet. Medium bodied. Pretty decent sweet Belgian inspired beer.

Well stored bottle @ Tores garage. Almost clear amber body with almost any head. Nice aroma, malt, dry fruit and a bit floral. Taste has sweet malt, dry fruit and nicely warming alcohol, moderate bitterness and a bit spicy. Fine body with long lasting sweet aftertaste.

Bottle. Pinkish color. Strange earthy nutmeg aroma, dusty. Dusty flavor with nutmeg, earthy hops and melon. Sweet and sugary. Fairly low on carbon. Something wrong with this bottle, or is it done on purpose? Or are just my nose and palate infected? Anyway, I don’t like it.

Bottle listed as Batch 32
Poured into glass with very little foam that disappeared completely after about a minute. The colour is really nice gold-copper and the smell, well, it kind of reminds me of the Sam Adams Triple Bock I had years ago.
The taste is a bit of a quagmire...a few things going on but not in a harmonious way. There's a tartness present that I don't find that appealing and the alcohol taste is definitely there. Is this really in the trippel style??
Well....I can say that I've tried it.

More of a belgian ale, but clearly american-made take on the style. Pretty good, but not their best beer by any means. Hair of the dog portland ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
