440ml can from lowcostbeer.com, canned 27/10/20, BBE 22/10/21. Pours black, small tanned head, circular and swirled retention, some lacing. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, touch of liquorice, hints of sweetness. Nice if a little standard. Taste however is very rich and moreish with big dark chocolate notes, liquorice, roastiness, fig, nuts. Alcohol warmth on way down. Medium to full bodied. Very nice.

Can, 0.44l. Aroma of roasted malt, licorice, chocolate, dried fruit and hint of a coffee. Pours almost black color with thick creamy light brown head, good lacing and sparkling appearance. Taste starts with sweet and rich roasted malt, dried fruity acidity, following is caramelly and nutty with mild chocolate note, mouthfeel is warm and mild spicy, while finish is mild bitter. Full body, thick texture and lively carbonation in palate. Roasted hemisphere…

aroma is roasted malty, faint liquer, coconut like fruitiness, vanilla, chocolate cake not that full bodied aroma given 10% abv. i feel it is a bit messy with various notes that doesn't really match up well. Flavor is much better than aroma, roasted malts, frosted brown chocolate cake, faint almost flowery vanilla, good (i think) chili and alc. driven bitterness bite, however, hoppy bitterness is a bit lacking. pretty good flavor, very complex actually, unlike aroma the flavor seems to become a whole and a treat.

Can picked up from Hoptimism website Loughborough Leicestershire UK and consumed at home Sunday 24th January 2021 whilst listening to Sleaford Mods new album, we had Cheese Spaetzle and Onion Bake, marvellous. Pours black with a mid sized tan head that slowly disappeared. The aroma is chocolate or more precisely bitter cocoa, molasses, big, big malts with a smattering of dark sticky fruits dark fruit rinds, figs, molasses, chocolate, toasted brown sugars. Dark malts, lots of molasses, chocolate, lots of milk chocolate but hints of dark 80%+bitter chocolate, weird how I get both. Nice beer, solid Impy Stout, great for not being full of adjuncts.
