A complex grain bill of Pale, Munich, Crystal, Amber, Carafa and Melanoidin malts creates a full-bodied biscuity foundation with nutty undertones. East Kent Goldings and Taiheke hops added towards the end of the boil infuse a subtle hop character that perfectly complements the malt base.
Each sip delivers notes of dark fruit with plum, raisin, and fig at the forefront, rounding out this exquisitely layered Barleywine.

Barley Wine 2024 på Skaal. Mycket fin doft av starkvin/russin. Smaken kraftig med fattoner. Låång eftersmak. Riktig god

On tap at Mikkeller & Friends, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma has plenty of caramel, toffee, brown sugar, and bready malt. Flavour is very malty, with lots of toffee, caramel, bready malt, and just enough bitterness to back. Nicely balanced, definitely not sweet. Very good.

On tap at Mikkeller & Friends. Pours murky brown with a beige head. Bready malts, dry caramel on the nose. Flavour has dry bread, some crusts, dry caramel. Nice.

Dark brown colour with small head.Aroma of dark drid fruit and wood mild toasted and roasted mouth feels and good full body even nice toffee flavour and malty finish.

330ml slim can. Dark brown pour with a beige head. Aroma of raisin, figs, plum, caramel. Taste is sweet, rich malts, caramel, dark/dried fruits - figs, plum, raisins, light spice, boozy warming finish. Medium bodied. Lovely.

Sweet toasted malty with notes of dark dried fruit shred, prunes, sultana, spices, caramel and fudge like malty sweetness, medium bodied, lingering spiced warming malty into the finish. Very nice.

Keg at the Wee Vault. Pours dark reddish brown with a short-lived thin ring of white head. Aromas of toffee, stewed plum, caramel. Taste is sweet, light spice. Warming toffee finish.

Keg at Brewdog Soho, London. A very dark ruby/brown coloured pour with a thinnish off white/beige head on top. Rich, malty, caramel, dark fruit, plum taste/aroma. Decent barleywine which didn't taste like a 12.2% beer at all.
