A complex grain bill of Pale, Munich, Crystal, Amber, Carafa and Melanoidin malts creates a full-bodied biscuity foundation with nutty undertones. East Kent Goldings and Taiheke hops added towards the end of the boil infuse a subtle hop character that perfectly complements the malt base.
Each sip delivers notes of dark fruit with plum, raisin, and fig at the forefront, rounding out this exquisitely layered Barleywine.

Can thanks to my bro. It pours clear super deep ruby - brown with a decent khaki head. The aroma is soft, sweet, mellow, toothy, dark and dried fruits, plum pudding, date, prune, raisin, brown bread, toasted fruit, toffee and salted caramel. The taste is slick, oily, bitter - sweet, sticky, bitter - sweet, boozey, warming, dried fruits, dark fruits, plum, prune, date, raisin, fig, nip of spice, toasted fruit, toffee, salted caramel and burnt toast with a slick mouth feel. Fulsome body, fine carbonation and slick, oily mouth feel. Nice elements to it, but not a huge amount of depth. Also is perhaps overly thick. Not bad.

Can. Near clear deep amber brown beer, good tan head. Smooth palate, decent fine carbonation. Smooth malts, light caramel and cream. Mild toffee. Dates and a touch of marmalade. Slightly savoury caramel and soft mild brandy on the soft finish. Good barleywine. Layered and flavoursome. Should improve with age but splendid now.
