Draught, 6.6% as Flakhaven Porter. Very buttery aroma. Black colour. Big stable brown head. Full flavour, quite sweet and with distinct liquorice notes. Very buttery flavour too, but almost hidden by other flavours. Could be a very nice beer without all the butter, must be infected.

Draught at the brewpub
Black color; thin creamy head. Light aroma of caramel and malt, no liquorice. Round mouthfeel, with residual sweetness, some roasted malt and the artificial, sweet, liquorice candy stick. Odd. Why brewing such stuff?

A pitch black beer with a slight brown shine under a thin brown head - the head is surprisingly thin for an Apollo beer. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of yeast and some brewmash - as if it hasn’t finished fermenting. The flavor is very sweet malty with a sticky licorice note as well as faint hints of roasted malt, but also something that seems like it hasn’t finished fermenting. Just not me.

(On tap) Black and opaque with a small, light brown head. The aroma is surprisingly neutral - perhaps a wee whiff of licorice. Very full-bodied, soft and smooth with a rather low carbonation. Lots of hard roasted malt in a nice balance with sweet licorice. Bitterness comes late but is quite distinct. 041006
