(Cask at Rake, Borough, London, 11 May 2024) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of dark chocolate, coffee and liquorice. Malty, roasted taste with coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice, black rye bread and a balanced roasty bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Soft and well rounded mouthfeel. Well balanced stout. Nice one.

Cask at Old Harkers Arms, Chester. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a medium sized foamy tan head. The aroma has oats and roasted malts. In the mouth it starts off sweet and smooth with a creamy texture but quickly some underlying fruitiness can be detected. Flavour has cola, roast malts, oats and lactose leading to a dry and fruity finish. This is rather nice.

Cask at the farmers boy St Albans. A dark mahogany brown coloured pour with a loose magnolia head. Aroma is nutty brown loaf, brown sugars, rustic rye toffee, raisin. Flavour is composed of nice rustic layered malts, malt loaf and riaisn, light char. Black liquorice. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, mellow cask condition. Nice characterful stout.

Cask @ Font, Manchester. Floral-heavy with light roasted malts, with the latter better stated in its nose. Black with a creamy off-white head.
