We have fermented the 500-year-old working class drink with yeast from a very special upper class origin. Unfortunately, due to trademark law reasons, we are not allowed to continue this. That's why we dedicate this unusual beer to the Great Ladies, as well as to the Bavarian and French monks who inspired us.

Full bodied and tasty, with some dark malt character, maybe their best beer. A slightly modified weissbier, really nice. Landgang Hamburg

0.33 l bottle from 'Beyond Beer', 2017 version at 9.0 % abv, best before November 2018. Hazy, dark amber with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish, quite yeasty-spicy and a bit fruity aroma of banana, cloves and some peach. Rather sweet, malty, moderately yeasty-spicy and a little fruity taste of banana, cloves, honey and some peach, followed by a short, slightly bitter, rather yeasty-spicy and minimally tart finish. Medium to full body, almost oily mouthfeel with little effervescence, soft carbonation. Tasty, but rather ordinary Weizenbock with hardly any of the promised vinous features.

Bottle, 9.0% as Landgang-Brauerei Salonsozialist 2017. Sweetish and slightly citric aroma. Does not smell wheaty as such, perhaps a bit of banana. Cloudy copper colour. The flavour has a mild banana note, quite citric. The finish is even more citric and slightly unclean. OK wheat beer mouthfeel.

Tap at Alles Elbe. Cloudy amber, offwhite lowish Head. Gunpowder apple cider aroma. Medium full but tartly dry body - indeed a mix of Weizenbock and secco, cool. Apple notes, cummin, allspice, clove, banana - all off it! Really interesting, a worthy experiment.
