Defying predictability, just like the Peak District weather, we’ve crossed a full-bodied milk stout with sinfully rich peanut butter decadence to create a true adventurous palate pleaser.

Can from Systembolaget. A tricky one. On the one hand, it beers towards the kinda stouts I like - low abv, good mouth intensity, peanut butter flavours. On the other hand it just feels confused to be honest - with a kind of jammy flavour and almost sour bitterness. Surprising from a brewery like Buxton. Heavy notes of fudge.

Svart med lys brunt skum. Lukter peanøttsmør og søt lakris. Lett. Smaker kakao, lakris, havre og kaffe. Middels lang. Noe bitterhet i avslutningen.

Cask at the Pup & Duckling, Solihull. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a mostly lasting frothy tan head. The aroma is caramel and chocolate. The flavour is over moderate sweet, with a smooth, somewhat light, roasty, toffee caramel, light liquorice bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Too sweet for me!

Can at home, from an online peddler I can't recall, 26/08/24. Dark mahogany brown topped with a beige cap that thins to a swirl. Nose is cocoa powder, dark malts, peanut butter, light roast. Taste comprises chocolate peanut butter cookies, dark malts, light spice, toffee, mellow roast. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close. Okay PNB infused stout ... balance isn't bad and doesn't run overly sweet.

Tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours dark brown, with very fine, limited, cream/cappuccino foam. Aroma is delicious, with nuts and cinnamon, toasted. Body is slightly above average, smooth, with scarce carbonation. Taste is medium sweet, with a nice toastiness. Final is fairly dry.

Can. Buxton online. Muddy brown with some dirty looking suds. Eesh. 90% peanut butter and 10% chocolate ice cream. Taste is super sweet. Some coffee bean like bitterness. Fairly slick. Fine carbonation. Sweet to finish but with a slightly jarring bitter edge. Hard work.
