An homage to one of the most classic characters in mead history, Marion is named for Maid Marion, the legendary love interest of Robin Hood. Marion is one of our all time favorites at Superstition. It has won multiple awards over the years, including a Gold Medal at the Mazer Cup International in 2016. This craft beverage is an excellent expression of honey and berries, and pairs well with rich cheeses, charcuterie and dark chocolate.

Draught at Mikkeller Viktoriagade.
Very dark purple body, with a tiny, pinkish head.
Lovely aroma with loads of red and dark berries, smooth dark honey.
Tastes similar, with more sourish berries.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes medium sweet, a bit sour, fresh, with smooth honey and lingering berries.

Delicious! Not that complex, but so smooth and dangerously quaffable for the ABV, with lovely fresh berry notes throughout. Alcohol is completely hidden. Beautiful stuff.

Bottle (from koht). Pours red. Aroma is sour, massive berries, black currant juice, booze, slight buttery notes. Flavor is sour, sweet, bitter, booze, acidic. Finish is sour and dry with booze. Overall: where's the honey?! This is fruit wine with honey. Not bad for fruit wine, but way over priced for what it is.

Sweetest tasting 2.0. Dark red burgundy, no head. Massive sweet raspberries, fruit stones, tart and sour edge, big honey underneath and on top, moderate bitter as well. Full body and no carbonation. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Marion on 14 Apr 2018 at 13:07 - Score: 8

Bottle sampled at The Sweetest tasting II. Clear beautiful deep ruby with no head. Looks great. Lots of great tart berries, with again the raspberry coming out nice and the blackberries taking front stage. Nice fruits. Quite sweet but also a deep balancing sourness and medium bitter. Over medium bodied. Nice!

Smells of rhubarb, boiled onions, sweet borscht, beef braised in wine. Has a deep red colour to it like red wine but with a bit of a vegetable juice mix. Flavour is a soft and sweet affair that reminds me of candied bacon, raspberry sorbet, any number of fruit smoothies. Sweet finish loke a dessert wine. Very fine, very unique, never had a mead quite like this.
