Apr ’15. On tap at the brewpub, spelled as "Double IPA" on the blackboard. It poured hazy amber body with medium sized white head. Tropical fruit and citrus hoppy aroma with lightly distracting stale note. Fine bittersweet flavor - fruity hop bitterness well balanced with caramel and biscuit malt. Medium bodied with a longer, predominately hop finish, herbal and citrus touched with cardboard. Absolutely fine, although I expected more of it.

(Draught at Vagabund Brauerei, Berlin, 19 July 2015) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of citrus, grapefruit and caramel. Malty, fruity taste with citrus, resin, grapefruit, orange peel, caramel and a generous citric bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Solid and well made IPA. Very nice.

Keg at the brewpub, 19/07/15. Copper to golden with a decent off white covering. Nose is pine needle, orange squash, citric pith, grapefruit, floral notes. Taste comprises light soap trace, pine, orange pith, melon, grapefruit, hint of caramel malt. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough IPA... DIPA @7% ...Hmmmm.

Draught. Amber gold with a thin head. Aroma smells a lot of socks. Flavour is dry bitter hop, a little sugary, long, very long dry bitter finish. Dry palate.

(Keg at Vagabund, 20140419) This could be the same beer as the Imperial IPA despite the different ABV. The beer poured amber and quite cloudy. Its head was medium sized, white and it lasted long. Aroma had pine, malts, resin and creamy toffee. Palate was medium sized with medium carbonation. Flavours were hops, creamy toffee, pine, malts, resin, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste had creamy toffee, pine and bitterness. A very tasty and well balanced hoppy sweet brew.
