Viking DNA was the very first beer we ever brewed at Brew York and thus it holds a very special place in our hearts. We are thrilled to see it return.
Smoked malt compliments six other malts to create a smooth and well balanced porter with subtly smokey undertones.

Can picked up from a supermarket somewhere and consumed at home Monday 12th February 2018 whilst cooking a potato, spinach and caper fish pie and a celeriac mash. Pours almost black with a thin beige head. Tangy and fruity with a little smoke a touch of tamarind a light maltiness almost mild as in mild style completes the picture. Fine. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Can. Brown-black with a beige head made large by me dropping the can just before I opened it. Up front it's fruity with chocolate notes. Some smoke, ash and liquorice comes through before a meaty finish. Enjoyable and a little bit different. Good stuff.

Can. Asda. Deep chestnut brown. Thin, dense, thick rimmed, beige head. Nose has soft, sweet woodchip smoke. Some savoury notes. Bit of bonfire toffee. Hint of spent coffee grinds. Taste is light sweet, with a vine fruit pip dryness. Smooth mouthfeel. Soft carbonation. Bit of a coffee and vine fruit tang to finish. Very nice.

Can from Asda. Poured a clear dark brown with a fizzy, short-lived tan head. The aroma is smoky roast malt, light caramel fudge. The flavour is moderate to light sweet with a dry, smooth smoky, light coffee, liqourice palate. Medium bodied with lively initial carbonation. The beer seemed very mildly infected too.
