Wheat based Porter. Black in appearance with a bright white head, just like the historic attires of the Pearly Queens of East London past. Smooth drinking with a roasted malt and dried fruit flavour.

Cask at Pig’s Ear 2015. It pours hazy deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is toasty, earthy, salted caramel, tangy dark fruits, coffee, oiliness and some meat. The taste is toasty, bitter, earthy, charred wood, oily, toffee and salted caramel with a dry, woody finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Overall not bad.

Cask at Pigs Ear 2015, day 1 - London. Pours clear, rich brown with a foamy tan topping. The aroma holds tangy, ripe berries. Light to medium sweet flavour, with further tangy berries, other dark fruits, brown bread. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately sweet on the finish, with yet more tangy fruits, bread, suggestions of cocoa. Fair.

Cask at Pigs Ear ’15, 01/12/15. Light black with a moderate beige covering that clears to the edge. Nose is chocolate, spice, light hop dusting, brown bread, dark malt. Taste comprises brown bread, cocoa powder, toffee, light charr. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. So so, thin and lacking depth.
