Jim Beam barrel-aged barley wine was blended with a selection of stouts aged in Heaven Hill barrels for over 2 years in a ratio of 25% barley wine to 75% imperial stout. The warming fig & chocolate flavors from our stout mingles with the rich caramel toffee notes of the barley wine while the barrels present the palate with a rich oak and bourbon aftertaste.

Solid evening sipper Dark pour and a small tan head. Fine intensity in the aroma. Pleasant sweetness and a fine carbonation level. Toffee, fruity, some oak, chocolate and mild bourbon in the flavor. [Bottle at Komlefjorden 24]

Nice light brown bubbly-creamy shortlasting head, deep dark pour. Aroma is slightly sweet boozy, dark malts, chocolate, dark sugar, bourbon, vanilla, cinnamon, dried dark fruits, bark, toast, mocha. Taste is sweet sour-ish spiced, dark sugar, maple syrup, dark malts, bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, dried dark fruits, cinnamon, toast, rye bread, toffee, salty licorice. Medium bitterness, slightly sweet sour-ish boozy mouthfeel. Nice.

Bottle, 375ml. An unclear dark, dark brown beer, oily and headless. Alcohol, booze, dark roasted malts, coffee notes, some oak and dark chocolate and a good dash of coffee in the aroma. It’s full-bodied and warming, sweet, softly carbonated and with a decent bitterness. Coffee, brown sugar, roasted malts and some booziness in the flavor. Lasting finish. Quite pleasant this one, a bit boozy but that works well. 241130
