Keg at Brauhaus. Pours deep amber with a thick beige head. Aromas of orange, toffee and roast. Taste is mixed dried fruit, toast, light roast and marmalade. Dries out nicely.

Cm thanks to my bro. It pours clear copper - brown with a decent off - white head. The aroma is earthy, resinous, oily, sappy, malt loaf, ryvita, nutty, toffee, you h of butterscotch, fortified wine, light vanilla and warming booze. The taste is firmly dry upfront, touch of bitterness, warming booze, nip of spice, old leathery sofa, tannin, dry oak, fortified wine, whisky soaked oak, brown bread, ryvita, punchy, toasty grains and cereals with a boozy oak finish. Medium body and, fine carbonation and oily mouth feel. Rich and oily. Quite an interesting offering. Heady and boozy.

Can from The Beerhive. Hazy amber body with a thick off-white head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of caramel and marmalade. Flavour of sherry and toffee. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. It’s not a full flavoured and intense as I thought it would be; it’s soft and well rounded.

Can from Appellation Wines. Appearance - deep amber and a big foamy beige head. Nose - brown bread, toffee and a bit of roast. Taste - toffee, sultana and an edge of marmalade. Again roastiness closes it out. Palate - medium bodied, juicy sweet middle with some roast on the finish. Overall - lovely stuff!
