Take 1, Volume 1: Barrel #138

The first Electric Roads blend was a very special bottling for me. The blending work was extensive, and it was the first time that I utilized more barrels than I needed to achieve greater complexity and balance. The "bonus" 50 gallons in the tank filled a special Buffalo Trace Experimental barrel to age for an additional 18 months. The signature salted caramel, dried apricot, and marzipan character of Electric Roads shine through with waves of nutmeg, wet oak, and cream soda joining the experience. The palate of barrel #138 has a light sticky tack that makes this beer a real treat.
