Poured from an 8.4 oz bottle. Aroma is very malt forward with lots of caramel, toffee, toasted bread and burnt sugar notes. Light notes of raisin, prune and dried cherry notes. Moderate alcohol notes with hints of oak, rye and spice. Pours a dark brown color with brown and slightly auburn guess on the edges with a small, forced head that immediately disappears. No lacing and long legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with lots of caramel, toffee, burnt sugar and lighter notes of toasted bread, chocolate and molasses. Moderate bitterness and medium alcohol notes. Light notes of cherry, prune and raisin notes. Light spicy rye notes and oak. Mouthfeel is full bodied with low / no carbonation. Low astringency and moderate alcohol warmth. Overall, a solid quad. Great malt character with nice spicy fruit notes. Barrel character is a bit light, but works well with the malt character.
