First brewed in 2016, Atlantic Red proved so popular that it returned in 2019. The strong, ruby ale makes a return this year as part of our 'Modern Classics' series, which showcases some of our favourite seasonal beers from recent years

This ruby ale uses a blend of red and dark crystal malts to create a smooth, rich malty flavour followed by a light subtly sweet finish.

Cask at Sun Inn, Stafford. Pours a dark copper with a small foamy off-white head. The aroma is mainly malts with a few traces of floral hops. In the mouth it is sweet and creamy with nuts and marmalade to the fore and hints of floral hops, which grow stronger in the long finish. This is decent enough,

On cask at the Standing Order. Appearance - orange more or less. Nose - orange and burnt bread. Taste - brht bread again not much fruit. Burnt raisin maybe. Palate - light to medium bodied. A touch astringent on the finish but not the worst. Overall - a bit challenging this one.
