Bottle from the Maypole, Cambridge. Light gold, no head with a bit of carbonation. The intense sweet honey is tempered by the spicy season yeast. A lovely sip although a little too sweet, and it doesn’t improve until a bitter hoppy note in the finish. Yeast and coriander in the aftertaste. Mixed bag but good overall. Got drunk on saisons a couple months ago and haven’t wanted one since... this was a gentle introduction back.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - golden amber and hazy. Some head. Nose - gentle honey and ginger biscuits. Some lemon and yeastiness. Taste - more honey and ginger biscuits. Palate - light to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - not a massive fan of honey or ginger in beer but this is decent. Can’t help thinking the underlying saison might have been better.

Bottle from Sourced Market St Pancras and drunk at home. Glue and saison yeast aroma. Some hop some saison yeast, carbonation is both too much and flat. It’s just not a very good beer in this bottle. Ugly aroma and the flavour is ok but no great shakes some banana ester. Rest is not great.

Keg at the hanging bat. Pours clear gold, thin white head. Aromas of bready yeast, floral hops. Not getting ginger, unless it’s that light spice more. Not getting honey either, although it has a sweet finish. Thin body, decent.

23rd Aug 2014 in Sophie’s Creperie, 330ml bottle. Hazy yellow pour with a white topping. Yeasty, citrusy and spicy in both the nose and taste. Orangey feel as a taste backbone, sweet and sour feel overall. Interesting blend of flavours with the wheat content coming through as well as those orange hints. Different.

Half pint from the keg menu at York Tap. A remaining low white head to a cloudy golden body. Lemony hops and coriander on the nose. Fruity taste joined by a spice touch, subdued hints of ginger. Nice fruity ending. Soft carbonation. A very refreshing summer ale (York 10.07.2014).
