Bottle at home in London - picked up at the London Brewers Market. Opens with a loud hiss but, thankfully, it doesn’t gush. It does, however, pour with a monstrously big, billowing beige froth of a hear. The beer itself is dark brown. The aroma has notes of ashy roast, cedar, ripe dark berries, raisins and blackcurrants, some cocoa. Medium sweet flavour with notes of torched wood, very slightly tangy dark fruits, more berries, figs, baking cocoa, scorched earth. Medium bodied with lively carbonation and massaging texture. Finishes with further notes of bittersweet cocoa, lightly tangy dark fruits, berries, earth, sturdy roast, burnt wood. Nicely layered, and very drinkable given the ABV.
