Big old school imperial stout, aged in a port barrel and a 21 year old whisky barrel. A touch smokey, a touch sweet, no adjuncts, just awesome in a can. Being barrel aged it might be boozy to some.

On tap at Low Key Taproom Ashford. Black beer. No head. Oily impy stout appearance. Aroma of espresso coffee some chocolate. Some coffee and dark chocolate in the mouth. Decent flavours. Not much carbonation .juicy in the mouth. Some dark fruits. Molasses and raisins. Light burn sting on finish. OK chocolate flavour.
Ok enough.

Panda at home, thanks to Kenny, 26/01/2025.
Black with a khaki head that soon thins to the edge.
Nose is dark malts, smoked notes, port nip, dried fruit rinds, burnt toffee, stewed fruits.
Taste comprises plummy notes, port barrel, light smoke, whisky kiss, mellow roast, fruit cake mix.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a mellow rising boost.
Not bad ... grew on me but as with other beers I've had from this brewer ... just a touch raw in places and lacking finesse.

Can. Opaque dark brown beer, a few tan bubbles never threaten to form a head. Smooth palate, a mild viscosity, reasonable fine carbonation, good enough for this brew. Smooth dark malts, a soft dark chocolate. The whiskey barrel imparts ripe fruity mellow whiskey, unfortunately it also deliveres that emulsion paint vibe that sometimes comes through from barrelling. The Port barrell is sadly very much the underdog here, some juice berry fruits but well buried. Smooth finish. Not far from a good brew but don't need the paint vibes and the Port barrel could be much more forward for me.

Can at home, 14th December 24. Pours thick and black. Aroma is complex, barrel, wet wood and liquor with chocolate and malts. Taste is complex, dry, liquor, barrel and wood, sweetness from the port,,but so well integrated and balanced the beer never rides too sweet, tempered by the whisky. Fabulous
