Panda at home, thanks to Sir Kenneth of Essex, 27/10/24. Clear golden with an off white cap that dissipates edgewards. Nose is orange peel, bourbon, citric tinged straw, light pine, melon, perfume. Taste comprises orange peel, JB soaked wood, grapefruit, light pine, melon, grass. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spliced with mellow hop bitterness and a recognisable JB trace. Decent for a BA IPA ... not something I seek out, BA pales, but this was well constructed, maintained the essence of an IPA whilst introducing a notable barrel element.

Can. Not far from being a clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Light palate, mildly dry, a nice minerally crispness. Light malts, a light creamy sweetness goes well a light barrel induced oaky vanilla. Light crisp piney hops with a light juicy citrus. A mellow bourbon barrel matches perfectly, light bourbon soaked fruits. Crisp finish. Barrel aging IPAs and DIPAs is not a new concept, I can recall examples from a decade+ ago but, it's done very infrequently. This example from Kees is a fab light and well thought out affair of how this can work. Excellent.
