12oz can from Guess Who?, Bentonville, AR. Nose is coffee with bits of roast and cocoa. Black with a big tan head. Flavor is balanced between sweetness and bitterness with a sweet dark chocolate finish.

Can from Joe's Wine and Liquor, Memphis. Aroma is dark malt with roast, caramel, soft notes of coffee and dark chocolate. Flavour is moderate sweet with a good roasty bitterness. Body is medium but feels a bit thin for the aroma. Carbonation is fairly lively. Good.
Sigh... still waiting to go out. Beer ain't bad.

Notes from August 2009 Arkansas... :) Standard pint glass. Huge bubbly tan head, wispy lace. Clear ebony/ruby-colored body. Smell hits me up with dry toast & murky, herbal/rindy hops, & just a little Baker's chocolate. Diving in, I'm tasting burnt nuts/toast, faint coffee. Pretty robust. Earthy bittering. Bittersweet char finish. Carbonation is strong. Body is thin. Alcohol is about as expected. Feels very much like a stout. Could use some more residual sweetness. I suddenly felt really hungry while finishing this one off. I followed this up with another native taste... pork ribs. :D

Can. Level 6 bottleshare. Thanks to Mr Frog. Almost clear dark brown beer, decent pale tan head. Smooth palate, a little soft, reasonable fine carbonation. Thin dark malts, a little caramel in there. Tired ripe fruits on the back end. Light finish. Inoffensive but deathly dull.

Can shared at the Columbus tasting 31/08/2022. Many thanks to Tanner for this oen. Also Jeremy and Wingman for hauling. A dark brown coloured, coloured pour with a lively loose mid tan head. Aroam is airy roast, earth, light ash, some hjammy berries. Flavour is composed of dry earthy roast, raisin, roast, malt loaf, some liquorice. Palate is dry, airy, little thin, lively carboantion. Good stuff.

Can shared in London. Cheers to Tanner Rennet42! Pours clear brown with a big, fluffy beige head. Lightly sweet with notes of toasted malts, a little milk chocolate, soft roast, toffee. Light bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish, toasted biscuits, malts, brown bread, hot of cocoa. Simple, tasty.

Extremely dark mahogany brown with a beige cap that thins to the edge.
Nose is earthy roast, nutty, charr, dried fruit rinds.
Taste comprises light roast, cocoa powder, charr, dried fruit nip.
Medium bodied, light prickly carbonation, semi drying close.
Okay straight up porter.
