Gravity cask at Wirksworth station, mini beer fest, 06/06/2025.
Mahogany brown topped with a beige cap.
Nose is dull fruits, straw, herb, brown bread.
Taste comprises biscuit, fruit esters, hedgerow, twiggy.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close.
So so affair ... the twigometer is rising through amber on this one!

Cask at Mr Grundys, Derby Pours a deep chestnut brown with a tight white head and good lacing. Not a particularly distinctive nose – just some vague aroma of oranges and chestnuts. In the mouth it starts off as caramel briefly, before passing on to mainly oranges with hints of nuts and berries. Finish is quite sharp. Quite nice – one of their better ones.

Clear red beer with a thin white head. Nutty in aroma and smell. It’s a touch sickly with fruit. Nice enough but not one I’d dash back to.

Burnley Beer Festival 2015. Copper coloured ale. Has a grainy-sweet character and tasty for it. Has some extremely light roasted malt notes.
