Aroma has licorice, some hay and roasted malty tones. Flavour has licorice root, cold coffee, nuts and roasted malt. More like German dry dark lager (= schwartzbier) than porter.

Bottle: not completely clear, ruby-amber coloured, big and stable loose tanned head with a pinkish sheen; moderate dryish roasty nose with notes of cacao and dried fruits and - presumably - a tinge of Wood and vanilla; moderate bitter-sweet, not too light bodied, creamy MF; moderate bitter-sweet finish including roasted malt, vanilla and chocolate. Really a nice beer...

The bottle looks really good, but this is a strange format. Beer in the glass very dark, almost black, nice head. Malty-smokey aroma. Starts intense malty, modest smokey, earthy-dry. Light sourish notes. Finish could be more balanced, still intense malty. But okay.

Bottle, 66cl, shared by abemorsten. It pours an unlcear, brown body under a dense, finger-thick dark beige head. The aroma has roasted malts dominating, with some chocolate and a good touch of coffee. Slighlty sourish. Itβs medium bodied and soft on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation level. Some sourness in the flavor too, with roasted malts, bonfire hints and chocolate. A tad short in the finish. Feels a bit infected this one, but itβs a pleasant beer anyway. 140305

Duft av rosin og krydder. Brun grumset farge. Tynt dekkende skum hangende langs kant. Fin smak av rosin og krydder med en noe vassen ettersmak.
