750 ml bottle into chalice, no bottle dating. Pours moderately cloudy deep ruby red color with a nice 1-2 finger dense khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of caramel, plum, fig, pear, apple, grape, clove, pepper, toast, brown sugar, light chocolate, brown bread, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good complexity of yeast notes with a fair amount of malt presence; and good strength. A bit too fruity on the nose. Taste of caramel, plum, fig, pear, apple, toast, brown sugar, clove, herbal, light chocolate, brown bread, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of dark and light fruits, caramel, toast, brown sugar, light chocolate, brown bread, light clove, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and complexity of fruity yeast and dark malt flavors; with a good malt/fruitiness balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a moderately creamy and lightly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall the is a very good Dubbel style. Good balance and robustness of malt and fruity ester flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Bottle: Poured a deep brown color ale with a rather large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of dry caramelized malt with light fruity ester and some dry raisins and plum notes is not as rich and enticing as I had expected. Taste is also dominated by dry caramelized malt with some light fruity ester and some dry raisins and plums notes. Residual sugar is quite lower then I would have expected for the style. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Not bad overall but not as rich and sweet as I was expecting.

Almost clear, amber. Dense, small light beige head. Raisins, caramel, malts, dark sugar and a hoppy touch in the aroma. Mostly dried fruits in the flavor, with a little bitterness. Pleasant. Full body, lightly warming, with a nice carbonation level. Bitter finish. A quite pleasant American style dubbel. 130817

Bottle: Poured a mahogany colored burnt orange with a fluffy off white to tan head. Aroma is dark fruit of plum, sweet caramel malt, and light chocolate. Taste is a dry dark fruit and chocolate, lively caramel malt that leaves just enough sweetness.

Draught. Reddish brown with an off-white head. Aroma is of dark fruits, light yeast spice, a bit of molasses or caramel, lightly toasted malt, and a bit of citrus. No indication of the high abv. Sweet finish. Decent.

Pours a dark brownish-amber color with a medium off-white head that diminishes slowly. Rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of dark fruits, caramel malt and yeast. Medium to full body and slightly syrupy with flavors of sweet caramel malt, fruit and yeast. The finish is sweet and malty with a lingering fruity yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.

On tap at the brewery. Pours with a deep bronze body with no head. Aromas are very spicy (belgian yeast), mild fruity notes, with some brown sugar. Flavors are brown sugar, belgian yeast (and its spiciness), and cloves. The house yeast is very spicy and seems to mask the other nuances I get it most Dubbels. Very undercarbonated.
