The trend and game changer for the Lager originates from the US as an alternative having the same base Malts, a top fermenting Ale yeast instead of a bottom fermenting Pilsner yeast and a dry hop to finish it of adding complexity and aromas. A delicious style of beer that is taking on a huge interest around the world. We have made our recipe by having a base of Pilsner Malt with Munich for some added colour and structure. Wheats for freshness and head retention. A British yeast stem to maximize the malt aromas as the malt build is quite low to end the Alcohol content at 4.5%. Saaz and Perle hops where used to make a soft bittering and Mosaic for the Dry-hoping whom is rich in Mango, lemon, citrus, peaches, earthy pine, tropical fruit and herbs.

Malts: Pilsner-, Munich Malt and Wheat
Hops: Saaz, Perle and Mosaic.

Draught @ [ Malmö Öl & Whisky Festival 2016 ] @ Malmömässan, Mässgatan 6, Malmö, Sweden 21532. [ As West Coast Bryggeri Golden Ale ].Clear medium yellow color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, moderate to heavy hoppy, citrus, fruity hops, peach, pineapple. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, pineapple, peach, pine, hoppy, fruity hops, light floral. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. (Draught at Bishop’s Arms Folkungagatan, Stockholm, 9 Sep 2016) Hazy golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, malty nose with orange, grain and apricots. Malty, fruity taste with notes of apricots, citrus, grainy malt, grapefruit and a balanced citric bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and refreshing. Quite nice.

Flaska från SB. Gyllengul och disig med ett högt bestående skum. Humlig doft med citrus och tropisk frukt. Frisk och humlig med citrus, lite fruktiga estrar och konserverad persika och ananas. En liten jästton som känns lite belgisk. Tydlig beska. Mer APA än golden ale kanske men riktigt trevlig.

Bottle 33 cl at Paddingtons in July a while ago.Clear straw yellow color, nice lasting white head. A bit malty but mainly hoppy citrus fresh scent. Malty, grainy, bitter, hoppy, citrus taste, too much focus on dry bitterness. Medium a bit thin mouthfeel, medium high a bit harsh bitterness.

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Hazy golden, rich coarse head. Huge lychee and peach aroma. Mid sweet with light-medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Crisp with tropical fruit hops. Mid bitter finish. Simple but delicious.
