Bottle picked up from Pivnica Medvedgrad Samoborska two weeks ago today. However we're back home today Friday 12th September 2025 after a six hour drive from Samobor nr Zagreb. Sat drinking this in the dining room listening to Emily Pilbeam sitting in for Nathan Shepherd on Indie Forever show 6Music. Back to the beer, wow 😲 this is a real old skool banger 💥 Impy', the looks, aroma, taste bang on. Pours pitch black with a slim off white creamy textured head. On the nose this is roasty from the off, fab' balance, roasty bitterness, there's a huge black treacle and molasses get together going on here, a little sticky and oily this is fabulous, wonderfully thick in the mouth. This is a real shocker didn't expect it to be such a big hitter, but fuck it hits the mark, no bollocksy adjuncts that I am aware of just a straight up big Impy.

33cl bottle at Fakin Craft Beer, Zagreb, Croatia. Pours dark brown, almost black, with minimal brown foam, fine. Aroma is of licorice and molasses. Body is really thick and sticky, with moderate carbonation. Taste is fairly sweet, but not exaggerated. Final is fairly long and moderately sweet.

Boca 0,33L -- naručena iz pivovarinog web shopa - na prvi gutljaj slatkast i robustan stout s aromama kave i tamne čokolade alibrzo nestaje iz usta s gorkim i suhim završetkom

0.33 l bottle, shared with Marko. Thanks, little Dina! Dark brown to black, small beige head. Aroma is liquorice, roasty, soft chocolate notes. A touch of carob, a touch of biscuit. A bit rough, roasty, burnt, light phenolic. Smooth, medium body. Light toasty, caramely and chocolate flavour. Quite old school. Light hop character. Light finish. Warming. Nicely balanced.

0.33l bottle. Blackish body, small off-white head. Alcohol, oily, marzipan and citric notes, almond meal, bit oily, bit tart. Hoooh, not sure if attractive or not. Lean taste, caramel, citric hoppiness, ending quite quickly dry and bitter. Tasty but also, dunno, not my favorite.

Bottle, 0.33l. Black pour, one finger creamy brown head, long lasting, very good retention. Sticky lacing on the glass as it goes down. Nice on the nose, sweet and roasty notes, chocolate, bread, dark fruits and figs in the background. Full body, soft carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel and texture, thick, chewy, creamy. Slightly sticky. Goes down nicely. Balanced roasty bittersweet taste. Aroma of dark roasted malt, chocolate, dried fruits and berries. Figs, bready notes, lingering coffee in the background. Molasses, syrupy. Licorice, subtle lingering alcohol, nicely warming. Medium lasting finish, sweet, slightly dry, subtle latte and liquory notes. Quite tasty.
