Following the traditions of Belgian Noel beers, Magnificat is our first offering of a Christmas beer. Like a Belgian-style strong dark or quadruple ale, this dark beer has a rich, silky malt profile of caramel and roasted malts, rye, and oats, and reveals complementary accents of dark stone fruits and spices from our Belgain yeast. And to create that liquid-Christmas experience, the beer is spiced with clover honey, sweet and orange peels, coriander seed, nutmeg, and cinammon.

Pre GBBF tasting at Chris and Ruth’s. Another Jan box raid, cheers Fonefan! Clear deep amber beer, good pale tan head. Palate is light and smooth, decent fine carbonation. Tangy dark malts, tangy toffee. Something that tastes very much like Dandelion and Burdock! Thin malt cream. Mild cinnamon. Light semi dry finish. Spicy linger. Unusual.

75 cl bottle. Pours hazy brown with a small tan head. Aroma is nutmeg spiced, cinnamon, cardemomme. Dry, toasted, bitter and spiced. Solid spiced and dry finish.

On tap. Pours with a near black hued body and a tan head. Aromas are strongly of coriander, dark fruits, citrusy, peppery, warming. Yeasty, spicy, some toasted and roasted malts. Very inviting and well balanced. Flavors are of brown sugar, citrus peel, cinnamon, and coriander. Warming malt, woody, a touch rustic. Medium carbonation, dryish finish, warming but the alcohol is still relatively well hidden.
