50 cl bottle from a Kvickly supermarket poured in to a Snifter. Near black with a thin off-white head. Sweet aroma with liquorice, dark, roasted malts, vanilla, and milk chocolate. The taste is sweet. Full body. Slightly drying sweet roasted finish. Quite mild for an Imperial Stout.

2021 edition. Bottle shared with Holmen1 at Bjørnøy 29.12.21. Ebony. Dense brown head and lacing. Fine aroma and taste of dark malt, creosote, brittle, pine, pepper and medium bitterness. Well-balanced.

Bottle 500ml. @ Craig’s House - Edinburgh. [ As Ørbæk Juleøl 2015 ].Clear dark black brown color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, toffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light moderate bitter with a average to long duration, roasted, dark malt, toffee. Bottle (original rating from 2016). Pours opaque brownish black with medium brown head. Aroma is mild with notes of malt, dark syrup, gravy, dried fruits (dates, prunes) and hints of sweet licorice. Taste is medium sweet, medium bitter and light acidic. Body is creamy with fizzy carbonation. Finish is long and mostly bitter but still with good sweetness and with notes of roasted malt, soy sauce, licorice root, vanilla, dried fruits and hints of spice (anise and cardamom). Revisited 2022 edition: Rating still holds. Now more coffee, rye bread, roasted malt, dark chocolate and gravy. Otherwise mostly the same and still rather good.

Bottle, as Ørbæk Juleøl 2016. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy but stable darkish tan head. Clear aroma of malt, chocolate and hops, with notes of yeast and touches of cinnamon. Bitter, hoppy and roasty flavour with fruity and malty notes and touches of coffee and chocolate. Roasty and boozy aftertaste with estery notes and mildly acidic hints. Low carbonation, but this is not a disturbance in an Imp Stout. Reasonable.
