No head, deep cardinal-red beer. Cherries, soaked and aged wood, alcohol. Sour cherries, (yes, rather than blackberry), cherrycake, quite tart. Acidthinning and -burn. Typical Cascade overly sour , but nice despite itself.

From 75cl bottle at Grand Cru, Rimini, Italy. Pours intense red with beautiful reflections, at least against the light. Aroma is strong on red fruits like blackberries and raspberries. Body is tendentially light, some astringency. Taste has some sweetness, and marked sourness. Finish is long.

750 ml caged and corked bottle poured into a Spiegelau tulip. 2015 Project. Dark reddish with some super quick fading light pink head. Aromas of berries, cherries, subtle funk, a little vinegar, slight vanilla. Tastes of berries, cherries, vinegar, tart acidic notes, light funk, subtle oak. Medium-light body with a dry finish. Good though it’s a one and done for me at $29 a bottle.

Bottle. Wine Rack, Leeds. Hazy, dark ruby red. Film of pink. Nose has stewed raspberry. Lemon patisserie. Soft oak. Some savoury, balsamic notes. Taste has unripe raspberry tartness. Some oaky, woody sweetness. Sharp mouthfeel. Pretty clean, but it’s far too fizzy. Tangy, bittersweet, fruity sour finish. Decent.
