Bottle from Bodnant Welsh Food. Aroma has bitter coffee, sweeter berries and malts. Opaque cola brown. Foamy beige head soon almost entirely disappears. Medium-heavy bitter. Espresso. Tart berry edge. Peripheral sugary sweetness. Underlying malts more prominent into the finish. Light-medium bodied. Slick verging on creamy. Flat-soft carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Easy drinking BIPA.

500ml bottle @ 4.6%. Poured a mostly clear dark brown colour with a frothy off-white head. The aroma is roasty, light toffee. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a crisp, somewhat light, dry, ashtray, liquorice bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A solid BIPA but needs a little something extra to make it great.

0,5l bottle bought in Spar, Llanrwst. BB 21.12.2022. Almost black color, small tan colored head. Smells lychee, earthy, peppery, herbs, passion fruit, light coffee. Nice smell. Light body, soft carbonation. Tastes earthy, peppery, spices, herbal, light tobacco. Finishes light to medium bitter with a light roastiness and notes of herbs, pepper and spices. Quite good one, packs a lot of flavors.

Bottle that Dad shared - cheers! Dark brown with a thin beige head and a light fizz. Pleasant balance of chocolate malt against floral and pine hops. It's mellow rather than punchy and none the worse for it. It's a laid-back, well-balanced and very drinkable take on the style, and I enjoyed it.

Cask at the moon under water Watford Jdw. A clear mahogany brown coloured pour with a lasting uniform beige head. Aroma is subdued, liquorice, black malts, shoe polish. Flavour is composed of thin black malts, bark, pine light varnish. Palate is a bit thin, lowish carbonation. Not bad.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol March 2018. Dark brown in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. A toasty beer, with some leafy hops, plain chocolate, bready malts and a dryish finish. Good.

Cask handpull at The Society Rooms Maidstone JDW. Dark dark brown almost black beer lasting tan head. It's an OK hoppy dark beer. Some roast but quite juicy. Some lime hop. Quite dry on finish. It's a weird black ipa. Not my thing.
