Hazy reddish amber beer, tidy cream colour head. Palate is light with a fine crispness. Semi dry. Malts are mildly sweet with thin cream. Trace of caramel. Ripe orange and mild marmalade that blend well with mild floralness. Mild tropical fruits. Light finish. Nicely joined up and interesting beer.

330ml bottle, take-out from Birmingham Beer Bash 2015. Pours amber. Taste is a bit leafy and cobwebby. Startlingly so, considering the high standard of Cloudwater beers I’ve had so far and rather unpleasant to drink, lacking the caramel sweetness I was expecting. Disappointing.

Bottle from Stirchley Wines stand at BBB3; hazy amber pour with some UFOs and a thin beige head, aroma has sweet caramel, along with light citrus and some yeast action, taste has sweet tinned fruit, some quite robust malts, a hint of smoke, toffee brittle, bitter finish.

330ml bottle bought at Tall Boys Beer Market. Good looking with its frothy white head to a clear amber coloured body. Crocheted lacing on the glass. Mild grassy hops and brown malts on the nose. Caramel, grain, and dried jammy fruit flavours. Malt-fruity bitterness to the ending. Well balanced and not overly sweet. Nice version of the style (hotel room, Campus, Leeds 06.07.2015).

Bottle. Amber colour. Bubbly, lasting, white head. Aroma is quite nutty. Damp straw. Some spice. A little bit woody. Taste sets off light sweet. Full body. Fairly rich, matched by soft carbonation. Finishes fairly bitter. Tasty stuff.

Keg at Six Deg North. It pours hazy orange-amber with a decent white head. The nose is soft, doughy, hay, pretty spicy, candied citrus peel, peach and brioche. The taste is bitter-sweet, biscuit malt, straw, peppery spice, light metallic notes, apricot, peach and hay with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. A rather nice take on the style. Works well for me.
